Light Pollution 

What is Light Pollution?  Light pollution is excessive, misdirected, or obtrusive artificial (usually outdoor) light. Too much light pollution has consequences: it washes out starlight in the night sky, interferes with astronomical research, disrupts ecosystems, has adverse health effects and wastes energy.  Click the button to learn more.

Mars Project

The Mars Student Imaging Project (MSIP) is a nationally recognized award winning authentic inquiry-based learning and student-centered education project. Students learn how science works by engaging in science research using data from a NASA spacecraft orbiting Mars. GAVRT  Goldstone-Apple Valley Radio Telescope 

 Since August 1997, teachers across the nation have been trained in curriculum and operations for participation in the GAVRT program. Students actually take control of the massive dish via the Internet to study a variety of radio sources in space.
